Laura Mahoney, DVM
Medical Director
Dr. Laura Mahoney earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2017, following her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her journey into veterinary medicine began early—during high school, she attended Norfolk County Agricultural School, where she fostered her love for working with animals at a young age.
After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Mahoney completed a small animal rotating internship at Tufts VETS in Walpole, MA, with a focus on emergency and critical care. She went on to work in emergency hospitals, specialty centers, and general practice, developing a broad skill set and discovering her passion for providing urgent care to pets. Known for her compassion and expertise, she enjoys caring for animals of all kinds—whether furry, scaly, or feathered—and is committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care.
In 2025, Dr. Mahoney was honored as the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association’s Emerging Leader and also began her role as Medical Director at Precision Pet Urgent Care. In this position, she leads the medical team with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and excellence in patient care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Mahoney enjoys spending time with her own pets, exploring the outdoors, and continuing to expand her veterinary knowledge to better serve her patients.
